Prepper - noun
A person who believes a catastrophic disaster or emergency is likely to occur in the future and makes active preparations for it, typically by stockpiling food, medicine, and other supplies.
With wild climate change, the scary rise of energy rates, and our heavy dependence on foreign oil, it’s easy to want to prepare for a host of scenarios that might occur. In Florida, you’re crazy not to have a couple canned items set aside for a rainy day (or should we say a hurricane week?!). Many families will have a first aid kit in their homes, or enough medical supplies for a quick fix, just in case something happens to the kids. And who doesn’t have a flashlight with some extra batteries set aside for those emergency times?
People like to be prepared. And that’s a good thing.
There have been enough natural disasters, power outages, and instances of hyperinflation to make anyone consider setting aside some form of preparation for the next scenario that will likely occur.
This is where the solar way comes into play. What would you do if the energy grid goes down or if your power lines break?
Solar is an important investment for when our normal routine is interrupted by troubling events. A tropical storm can take out the electricity for days and hurricane season is right around the corner. You don’t want to be stuck without electricity for weeks (or even months). Eating dinner by candlelight is much better if it’s a freshly cooked dinner, you can put the leftovers in the fridge, and the candle is only for aesthetics.
