3 Heliocol Solar Pool Saving Case Studies

If you have been suspect of the benefits of solar energy on your home swimming pool, you may wish to think again. Heliocol solar panels have done a great many things for folks in their home and else wise. Here are 3 case studies of Heliocol solar panels and the impressive savings garnered.

heliocol-solar-pool-saving-case-studies.jpgUS Naval Station Recreational Pool: If you thought there is no way you could get pool savings using solar panels in your home, why not head down to the 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego to see what they have done. In their 7500 square foot pool surface Olympic-sized swimming pool there were installed Heliocol solar panels to keep the pool at a year round temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit. This pool is on top of a third story roof and the wind down there is pretty extreme. In less than one year though the US Navy got their full return on investment. Today the pool continues to be kept to that 82 degree temperature and service people are able to use the pool comfortably.

Aquatic Center Georgia Tech Summer 1996 Olympic Games: For further evidence of the quality of these Heliocol solar panels one need not look any further than the campus of Georgia Tech for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The 50-meter pool in question holds over 1 million gallons of water and is covered. The strict Olympic regulations dictated that this pool must be kept at a certain temperature. This was in 1996. Today, almost 2 decades later, the savings for this pool are impressive. The school has clocked in an annual savings of $12,000 after the Heliocol solar panel installation. Going on 20 years that's almost a quarter million dollars which have been saved by these panels.

El Cid Mega Resort: This Mexican resort has five pools and some 40,000 square feet of pool surface area. The kicker here was that in 1993 the resort was spending some $700 a day to meet their water needs. After installing the Heliocol solar panels and letting their direct access to the sun help them pay their water energy bills, they have seen a sharp turnaround. In just 18 months the 25,000 square feet of panels paid for themselves with the savings they had gotten. In fact El Cid had such success with their first order that they placed a second order for more panels, some 18,000 more square feet. This order made theirs one of the largest solar installations in the world.

Of course you are not going to have the same needs as most of these properties for your home. Chances are your homes needs are going to be far less than a Naval base or a huge mountain resort. Still if you see the savings that these places have gotten and you plan to stay in your home for a couple of years, why wouldn't you investigate how solar panels could help you in your home?
